Turning fascination into a bigger purpose- the Protsaah way!

One thing that I look forward to in my day-to- day work is meeting people and listening to their inspiring stories.

Two weeks back, while coaching one of my client on her career strategy, I came across a job advertisement. Apparently, nothing unusual in the job per se but something made me scroll up to that advertisement and that was the company name "Protsaah" and their tag line "Handcrafted Peace"!

Why? Why did I scroll up to it? I felt that the name sounds like a word called "Protsahan" in my native Marathi language. Protsahan in Marathi means to encourage. Now I was curious to know if there is any connection with this word? What does handcrafted peace stand for? Is there any India connection here? So, I decided to find out more and guess what? It is indeed started by an Indian lady living in Zurich!

I connected with the Founder of Protsaah, Saloni Duggal Shrestha, to know more about this story and discovered her SPARK…, what started as turning a passion for handcrafted heirlooms into a viable entrepreneurial venture, morphed into a bigger and powerful purpose - “Handmade in conflict zone globally”!

You might want to find it out yourself on http://www.protsaah.com/story/

What am I taking away from the story I heard from her?

  • Listen to your heart and follow your passion, especially when the things look dismal.
  • Be a wanderer, be curious to know more about people and substance that fascinate you.
  • Whenever you are feeling dejected or depressed, look for the opportunities to give, because the ability to “give” makes you feel “big”. It feeds your self- esteem.
  • Believe in your purpose, create connections and grow a community.
Let’s look beyond businesses and finances to connect with human beings living on their purpose and keep inspiring!
